April 1
Coven of Sisters– Netflix
While the original Spanish version has been out for release since earlier this month, the full English dub was available for release on April 1. With 83% on the Tomatometer, Coven of Sisters is worth mentioning again, the story following women accused of witchcraft who lure their inquisitor into witnessing the witches’ Sabbath in order to postpone their execution. Directed by Pablo Aguero, featuring the talents of Alex Brendermuhl and Amala Aberasturi. Trailer here.
April 2
Concrete Cowboy– Netflix
All we needed to hear about this movie is that it stars Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin. 15-year-old Cole (McLaughlin) is sent to live with his estranged father Harp (Elba) in North Philadelphia, where he discovers the city’s urban cowboy culture. Trailer here.
The Unholy– Theaters
Jeffrey Dean Morgan stars as journalist Gerry Fenn, who investigates a girl named Alice with seemingly divine power. Cary Elwes stars as Bishop Gyles and breakout star Cricket Brown plays Alice, her performance earning her early praise. Directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos. Trailer here.
Every Breath You Take– Theaters, VOD
Casey Affleck stars in this thriller, where his psychiatrist character, Dr. Philip Clark, is terrorized by a patient (Sam Claflin) he welcomes into his home. Also starring Michelle Monaghan and India Eisley as Dr. Clark’s wife and daughter, respectively. Trailer here.
Shiva Baby– Theaters, VOD
Rachel Sennott stars as Danielle, a college student who rather unfortunately runs into both her sugar daddy and her ex-girlfriend at a Jewish funeral service with her family; awkward hilarity ensues. Directed by Emma Seligman. Trailer here.

Girl– Hulu
Bella Thorne stars in this thriller about a young woman who returns home with the intention of killing her abusive father, only to find him already murdered. Her search for answers only reveals more dangerous family secrets. Trailer here.
April 9
Thunder Force– Netflix
Comedic legends Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer star in this Superhero comedy about childhood best friends who reunite to protect their city. Trailer here.
April 16
Monday– Theaters, VOD
Can’t get enough of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Get your Sebastian Stan fix alongside Denise Gough in what The Guardian refers to as a “hedonistic romance drama” in the 2020 release Monday. Mickey (Stan) meets Chloe (Gough) one night in Athens, and before they know it they’re waking up naked together the next day. Trailer here.
April 22
Stowaway– Netflix
Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim, and Toni Collette are a three-person crew on a two-year trip to Mars, but plans are skewed when they discover an accidental stowaway on board. Shamier Anderson plays Michael Adams, the technician who accidentally accompanies the crew on their mission. Trailer here.
April 23
Mortal Kombat– Theaters, HBO Max
What more needs to be said? The newest adaptation for the popular video game is finally here. Starring Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyouki Sanada, among many others. FINISH HIMMM! Trailer here.
Vanquish– VOD
Victoria (Ruby Rose) is just a mother trying to put her past behind her, but a retired officer Damon (Morgan Freeman) forces her into crime by holding her daughter hostage. Trailer here.
Separation– Theaters, VOD
When Maggie (Mammie Gummer) is tragically killed, her daughter Jenny (Violet McGraw) finds solace in the puppets based off of her artist father’s work. Jeff (Rupert Friend) tries to start over with his daughter, but with the threat of Maggie’s father suing for custody and Jenny’s babysitter Samantha (Madeline Brewer) the new woman of the house, their home becomes a hotbed for some frightening activity. We Broke Up– Theaters, VOD
Did you say a Romcom featuring The Boys‘ Aya Cash and The Good Place‘s William Jackson Harper?! I’M ALREADY THERE.
Lori and Doug are a long-term couple who break up just days before Lori’s little sister’s wedding. They decide to pretend they’re still together to avoid awkward questioning until the weekend is over. Trailer here.

Things Heard and Seen– Netflix
Amanda Seyfried stars as Catherine, an artist from Manhattan who relocates to the Hudson Valley with her husband, George (James Norton). As they get settled, Catherine begins to suspect a darkness in both her new home and her marriage. Based on the novel “All Things Cease to Appear” by Elizabeth Brundage, and directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. Trailer here.
